1. Pengertian

Active Voice

Kalimat aktif adalah kalimat di mana subjek melakukan aksi.

Rumus:

Subject + Verb + Object

Contoh:

• She writes a letter.
• They clean the room.

Passive Voice

Kalimat pasif adalah kalimat di mana subjek menerima aksi.

Rumus umum:

Object + to be + Verb 3 (Past Participle) + by + Subject

Contoh:

• A letter is written by her.
• The room is cleaned by them.

 2. Perubahan Active → Passive

Langkah-langkah:

1. Object pada active → menjadi Subject pada passive
2. Gunakan to be sesuai tense
3. Verb diubah ke V3 (past participle)
4. Subject boleh ditambahkan dengan “by” (opsional)

Contoh:

🟢 Simple Present

Active:

• She writes a letter

Passive:

• A letter is written by her

🟢 Simple Past

Active:

• They built a house

Passive:

• A house was built by them

3. Perubahan Passive → Active

Langkah-langkah:

1. Subject passive → jadi object
2. Ambil pelaku setelah “by” → jadi subject
3. Ubah verb sesuai tense asli

Contoh:

Passive:

• The cake was eaten by John

Active:

• John ate the cake

Passive:

• The homework is done by her

Active:

• She does the homework

⚠️ Catatan Penting

• Tidak semua passive harus pakai “by…”
• Jika pelaku tidak penting → boleh dihilangkan

Contoh:

• The window was broken. (tidak perlu tahu siapa)

Practice:
Change this sentence into Passive

1. She reads two books.

2. They clean the room.

Change this sentence into Active

1. The work was finished by him.

2. The house is built by us.
